What the spec shows
We read the Amazon listing for ASIN B07X2DNPT1 (bullet points, detail table and the spec images) on Sep 30, 2026. Where the listing gives two different figures for the same thing, both are shown.
| Spec | Value | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Color temperatures | 3000K / 4200K / 6500K | Warm, mixed and white. 3000K is the most yellow of the three; 6500K is a cool daylight white. |
| Brightness | 3 steps per color | Nine combinations in total, labeled soft, bright and luminous in the spec images. No lumen figure is disclosed. |
| Controls | 1 button per head | Each head is switched separately. The spec image says a short click changes brightness and a long click changes the color. |
| Battery | 800 mAh | Built-in lithium battery; the listing does not describe it as user-replaceable. |
| Runtime (per listing) | 5–8 h / 17–20 h / 30–60 h | Highest, middle and lowest brightness, from the spec image. The bullet text says “up to 60 hours” at low brightness. |
| Charging | 2–3 h | Via the included USB cable (about 1 m) from a computer, power bank or 5V adapter. The bullet says 2 hours, the image says 2–3. Red light while charging, green when full. |
| Weight | 3.5–3.7 oz | The bullet says 3.6 oz, the detail table 3.7 oz and an image 3.5 oz. In any case, about 100 g. |
| Size | 10.83 in arms | Arm length 10.83 in (27.5 cm), battery housing 3.94 in (10 cm), lamp head 0.59 in (1.5 cm) across, per the spec image. |
| Water resistance | None | The detail table says not water resistant. |
| Warranty | 1 year | Manufacturer warranty listed in the detail table. |
How it holds up in use
The design is simple: a stiff-but-bendable rubber-covered band sits behind the neck, the battery housing rests at the back, and the two arms bend forward so the lamps point down at a book, some knitting, or a crossword. Because the light comes from just below your chin and points at your lap, most of it lands on what you are holding. That is the practical appeal for someone who shares a room: the main light stays off. The listing also shows it bent into other shapes, set on a table or held in the hand.
The two heads are independent, which means you can run just one for a dimmer, more focused spot, or both for an even pool of light. The three color settings are a matter of taste for reading. General sleep guidance does suggest keeping evening light low: the American Academy of Sleep Medicine advises limiting exposure to bright light in the evenings and turning off electronic devices at least 30 minutes before bedtime [2], and lab research on evening light exposure is a large, still-developing field [3]. A small light on the lowest warm setting is one way to follow the “keep it dim” part of that advice, but we make no claim about what this light does to your body or your eyes. The listing uses eye-comfort marketing for the LEDs; we do not repeat it.
The listing's bullet text on switching off is worded unclearly (it describes turning the light off with one click after 30 seconds); in practice, check the included manual for the exact button sequence. Owners should also note the charging port: the cable in the photos has a standard USB-A plug at one end and what looks like a micro-USB plug at the other, but the listing does not name the connector, so keep the supplied cable.
This is a personal light for a page or a lap, not a room lamp. It is not water resistant, has no disclosed lumen rating, and uses a built-in battery. No wall adapter is included; any USB port or 5V adapter you already own will do.
How to fit it into your day
A simple sequence for a short night-time read; it describes using the light, not an outcome.
Charge it during the day
Plug it into a USB port or power bank for two to three hours until the indicator turns green. At a short read each night, the listing expects a charge to last around two weeks.
Set the arms once
Put it on and bend both arms so the heads point at where your book sits when you read. They hold the shape, so you rarely need to adjust again.
Choose a low, warm setting around 21:30
Once the main light is off, long-press to reach the warm 3000K setting and short-press to the lowest brightness that is comfortable to read by.
Stop at a set point
Decide on a chapter or a number of pages, switch both heads off, and put the light on the nightstand for tomorrow.
Price and where it is sold
On Sep 30, 2026 the blue version (ASIN B07X2DNPT1) was $8.99 and in stock, sold by VEKKIA and shipped by Amazon, with a free 30-day refund or replacement shown. Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone who dislikes something resting on the neck: a clip-on book light attaches to the book instead.
- Anyone who wants to light a whole corner for reading: a small dimmable lamp is the better fit.
- Anyone who finds reading at night uncomfortable for their eyes, or whose sleep is a persistent problem, should talk to an eye doctor or clinician rather than buy a different light.
